ABOUT
I am an engineer who helped my son grow his sound business in Philly, and along the way got hooked on live portable sound. When I retired, my wife (who is a folk musician) said there was a real need for sound reinforcement that did not make every performance sound like a hard rock concert.
I thought: “Build it and they will come.” So I started NE Acoustic Sound and purchased very good portable equipment specifically designed to enhance acoustic venues such as folk, old time, bluegrass, jazz, and classical.
NEAS sound is natural and pleasant. We believe in supporting the performers, and working with them, not dictating.
Modern digital techniques cannot make a performance space with poor acoustics into Carnegie Hall, but it can go a long way in mitigating acoustic problems. Quality sound reinforcement will improve voice clarity, remove shrillness, even out the sound … put another way: make the audience experience better! This is true for dance halls, small intimate rooms, outdoors under a tent, and found spaces in libraries.
As for the hassle factor, there is no need for a stage full of wires, big monitors, large subs, and a table with a large soundboard in the audience space. After all, the audience came to see the performance and not a plethora of audio equipment. Modern sound equipment can be wireless, the speakers can be remarkably small, and the once huge board is reduced to a handheld pad.
NEAS can also provide back stage curtains, simple lighting, even record the event, and even supply a tempory outdoor stage.
